Did you know?

Every year, flu viruses claim the lives of about 11 000 South Africans. This includes people over 50, pregnant women, individuals with underlying health issues (diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, asthma and other chronic heart- or lung diseases), and children (particularly between six months and two years of age).

Why should you get a flu vaccine?

Although there are COVID-19 precautions in place, it is even necessary to get a flu vaccine this year. The flu vaccine is especially effective at preventing flu infections or, where infections occur, lessening the severity of symptoms.
