Ingredients

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and olive oil, allowing it to bubble for 5-10 minutes. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix well, kneading on a floured surface until you have a smooth dough.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30-60 minutes until it has risen well. Once risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and divide it into 6-8 equal-sized pieces.
  3. Roll out each piece of dough to resemble bread slices.
  4. Melt some butter and add the oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and garlic flakes. Brush the dough slices with the herbed butter and stack them in a parchment-lined or buttered bread tin.
  5. Cover the loaf again to rise while preheating the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  6. Brush the top of the loaf with the herbed butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown on top.
  7. Allow the loaf to cool slightly before turning it out of the tin. Serve warm and enjoy!
