Dis-Chem Foundation BOB’s FOR GOOD!
Bob Skinstad walks free thanks to generous donors

19 February 2010

Former Springbok captain and Kfm presenter, Bob Skinstad spent five days in a jail cell in the middle of the V&A Waterfront to raise fun for his Bobsforgood foundation.

The foundation raises money to buy school shoes for underprivileged children. With the support of generous Capetonians, corporate sponsors and various media, including 94.5 Kfm who broadcasted from the cell on Friday morning, Bob managed to raise R450 000. R50 000 of that came from the Dis-Chem Foundation which supports many worthy causes and needy individuals.

Bob was released from jail on the 19th February at 08:30 when the next leg of his awareness campaign, called ‘Walk This Way’, began.

Bob and his team will Walk This Way to nine key areas in the Western Cape and will hand over approximately 5 000 shoes to underprivileged kids from pre-selected schools. The campaign is fully endorsed by Donald Grant, MEC Education, whose department helped the campaign organizers ensure they targeted schools with the greatest needs.

On his release Bob had this to say "Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign so generously and to the Dis-Chem Foundation for the most generous donation.  I can’t wait to take to the road and help those in need - one step at a time".

Bobs urges everyone to keep supporting bobsforgood and to make a massive difference to children in need in the Western Cape.
